As an avid collector myself for decades, I have seen many imposters around the world. Before I make a purchase, how can I be sure that I will receive an authentic item? R.V.

Glass Hunter,
Welcome to the forums!
In my opinion, education and knowing your seller is the best defense.
With new Murano Glass, it is a little easier to determine its authenticity, as it is usually marked or has a label. The seller should know ALL of the details about the glass. Remember, its the sellers responsibility to prove that it is authentic, not the buyers. A quick visit to the furnaces website will often show you their products, and you can compare for some extra piece of mind.
For some of the better know houses (eg Venini) auction catalogs and books can help authenticate a particular piece as many have been sold at auction and have been featured books. I understand that Venini in particular is helpful in authenticating their glass, but never have tried it myself.
Older, unlabelled and unmarked glass can be difficult to identify, but with some practice and education you can generally pick it out.

Mr. Charlie,
You seem to be on top of your game with regard to your knowledge in the field of Murano Glass. I became aware of Fossilfly during one of my most recent trips to Southern Italy, in search of exquisite pieces. A gentleman that I have been doing business with for 20+ years reccommended Fossilfly to me. I look foward to browsing your website. Do you offer a hardcopy catalouge?

RV,
At the moment, we do not have a print catalog, primarily to keep our costs lower, as printing is expensive, and our inventory changes fairly frequently.
