Hi. This is my first post. (Very happy to have found you!)
I am hoping to sell a Barovier & Toso Lamp base for my aunt. I was going to list it on ebay but after reading some of the previous posts I am hesitant to do that. So my first question is: where do I find persons interested in my aunt's lamp?
I have some information about the lamp, and also some questions about its state. There appear to be some flaws ... but I definately don't have a trained eye so it could just be the process by which it was made.
If anyone is interested in any other information I have just say the word and I'll keep on typing ...
Thanks very much.
Tracy :)

Hi. Welcome!
You shouldnt be too apprehensive about Ebay, I have found it to be excellent, especially if you are a seller. You just have to list your lamp, be forthright and detailed about the condition (as you are) throw up a bunch of good pictures...and wait till the bidding finishes!
Can you post larger pictures? The ones you added are only thumbnails and are hard to make out.

I tried to post the photos direct from my camera program and they were too big, so I transferred them to photobucket, saved them, and now they post very small. I'm not sure what to do. :(

you can edit them with the Microsoft Photo Editor
Its located at:
Start>Programs>Microsoft Office Tools>Photo Editor
Windows XP also has a image editing capabilities also, its really easy once you do it once. I think you can work with them directly when you goto the "My photos" folder.

I will add the above to the stickie, this is one of the more frequent image related questions.

Looks good, I took me a while to figure out how to attach an image!
do you have any more info on the lamp? How do you know it is Toso? Does it have a label or sig?

On the base of the lamp is a label, and with that information we sent an email to Barovier & Toso and they replied that the lamp was manufactured in 1958 and is a retired piece. With that information we sent a letter to a couple that has a column in our local paper, they are located in Knoxville, TN. They replied with the following information: The glass was made by incorporating pieces of golf leaf into the hot glass; as the piece was blown, shaped and manipulated, the golf leaf broke apaprt to form the flecked effect. They say the lamp was probably part of a set (as it is numbered 22283A).
The lamp is 11.75 inches tall (to the top of the glass) and 16 inches tall to the part the bulb would be inserted. The base is 5.5 inches across. It weighs approximately 5 pounds.
