First, I apologize for the following detailed description. I don't have a digital camera so can't send pictures. I have a vase, 6 inches in height, narrow neck 1 inch tall, 2 1/2 diameter, slightly wider top opening 1 inch tall, 4 1/2 inches diameter, a round bulbous body about 9 inches in diameter, and a base 1/2 inch in height and about 4 inches in diameter. The color is a swirl of greens -- nothing bright, more along the olive green lines with a little creamy white. It's cased then in clear glass. It has two stickers; one is a gold sticker with a Roman head, letters G and F on either side of the head, and "Formosa de Mvran a l'insegna del Moreto - Made in Italy." The other is a silver sticker with what looks like a blue starfish and the word "Murano." The base has a slightly rough pontil mark. The vase is in excellent condition overall. I'd appreciate any input. Thanks!

I believe that the sticker is Galliano Ferro, a company that opened its doors in 1955 in Murano. I am not sure how long the company operated, but I know they made glass in the 1960's.
So... you have a treasure.
Hope this helps some,
Anita

BTW, the Ferro name is high up on the list of respected glassmasters of Murano. There have been many generations of Murano Ferro's -- all very talented.

Thanks Anita! I appreciate your response, and I'm happy to know that however unwittingly I ended up with a treasure. I bought the vase about five years ago at a local antique mall for $12.00, so I think I got a real deal :)

I think there was also in this sites label library as well (what happened to it anyway?)
